Quarantine, set in L.A., May be the Next Cloverfield

Here we go again with the Cloverfield type buzz, but this time, some speculate that this movie is of a Los Angeles setting for the plot. Defamer points out that this latest YouTube viral sensation released Saturday (video embedded below) could easily be suspected as Cloverfield 2 or M. Night Shyamalan’s forthcoming Philadelphia disaster flick, The Happening.

Yet, after some sleuthing, they searched through IMDB for movies being released on 10/17 (you see the YouTube clip’s I.D. tag?) and found that Sony has a “big mystery-disease horror flick” called Quarantine coming out that day. The movie’s plot reads:

television reporter angela vidal (jennifer carpenter) and her cameraman (steve harris) are assigned to spend the continuously shift with a los angeles fire station. after a wont 911 call takes them to a small apartment building, they find police officers already on the scene in response to blood curdling screams coming from one of the apartment units. they before long learn that a woman living in the building has been infected by something anonymous. after a hardly of the residents are viciously attacked, they attempt to mystify with the news gang in drag, contrariwise to find that the cdc has quarantined the structure. phones, internet, televisions and cell phone access keep been cut-cancelled, and officials are not relaying knowledge to those locked inside. when the quarantine is at the last moment lifted, the only evidence of what took place is the news crews videotape.

Alright, time to wait seven months! Will it be worth it?
